NABIL FEKIR insists he has no problems with his knee amid a potential move to Liverpool,Nabil Fakir came close to signing for Liverpool earlier this month with the Reds looking set to complete a deal before the World Cup kicked off.
The Lyon star even underwent a medical with Reds staff and agreed personal terms.
During the medical, Liverpool sought a second opinion on a knee issue after he suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in September 2015.
The France international recovered sufficiently to play a major role in Lyon’s 2017-18 campaign but Liverpool erred on the side of caution.
However, Lyon decided to pull the plug on a transfer at the last minute with the club likely to want to hold onto him until after the World Cup to see if his stock rises.
In a press conference in Russia today, speaking ahead of France’s next match against Peru on Thursday, Fekir was asked about his situation with Liverpool.
The 24-year-old revealed he recently met Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas but did not discuss his club future.
However, he did attempt to quash any speculation regarding concerns over his knee.
"It was great to see Jean-Michel Aulas yesterday at Istra (base camp) but we did not at all discuss my situation at Lyon,” Fekir said.
“You know I am here with France, I am happy, and I am not here to discuss my personal situation. We will see about all that later.
"My knee is super-good. We work a lot on it, we reinforce it. But I honestly feel like before my injury."
Fekir is currently under contract with the Ligue 1 side until 2020.
