Liverpool have lost their battle to keep contract rebel Emre Can after the midfielder agreed a five-year contract with Juventus, according to reports in Italy.
The Germany international, currently sidelined with an injury, has been stalling on signing an extension with the Merseysiders and can leave on a free transfer this summer.
Can has long been linked with a move to Juventus, who have been sounding him out since January, and now Tuttosport and Gazzetta dello Sport claim the deal is done.
While Can still has to officially sign the paperwork, he has now reached an agreement with Juventus and shaken hands on a five-year deal.
The Old Lady have been keen to tie down Can after Paris Saint-Germain showed late interest, but the 24-year-old has his heart set on a move to Turin.
There are only a ‘a few details missing’ before Juventus can make the official announcement, which is likely to be made once the season has finished.
Juventus have made a new midfielder a priority this summer, with Claudio Marchisio and Can’s compatriot Sami Khedira both entering the twilight of their careers.
