MANCHESTER UNITED are set to land Juventus star Alex Sandro this summer, according to Duncan Castles.
The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a move away from Serie A in recent months.
Sandro, 27, was tipped to head to the Premier League in the January transfer window, however, Juve refused to sell the left-back.
And transfer guru Castles says Jose Mourinho is working on deals, with Juve convinced that Sandro will head to Old Trafford this summer.
“Manchester United are doing a lot of work on transfers at present,” Castles said on The Transfer Window podcast.
“He [Mourinho] is trying to do a lot of work on the team, a whole new defence.
“Alex Sandro, they have progressed to the point where Juventus expect him to go to the club, they’re prepared to sacrifice him.
“They think they can get a fee in the region of €60m for him.
“Sandro wants to leave, as he did in January, when Manchester United tried to get him then. It ticks boxes for all three parties.
“He [Mourinho] will upgrade the full-backs to give them a more reliable defence and better attack from the wings.
“[Antonio] Valencia will remain the first-choice right-back but he [Mourinho] wants a back-up to put pressure on him.
“He wants a top quality leader centre-back in there.”
United are back in action on Saturday afternoon when the Red Devils face Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley (5:15pm kick-off).
