Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has said Jamie Carragher has no right to criticise him after the ex-Liverpool man "spat from his car on a girl."
Fellaini hit out at former Liverpool defender Carragher, who has been suspended from his duties by Sky Sports, in an interview with Belgian publication Sport/Foot.
The pair have had disagreements in the past, with Carragher describing Fellaini "a menace" in 2016 and the Belgium international retaliating by describing him as "the champion of blah blah blah and the world champion of breaking legs."
And asked by Sport/Foot how he reacted to criticism from fans and pundits, Fellaini again took aim at Carragher.
"How can someone like Jamie Carragher dare to question me? The guy spat from his car on a girl after a Manchester-Liverpool match," he said in an extended version of the interview published in the magazine's print edition.
"You know, critics help you progress, you end up working more, you want to show them they are wrong."
Asked about fans getting on his back, he added: "It's happened once. Everyone exaggerates when it comes to this. It was against Tottenham when I came on, a week after I gave away a penalty against Everton.
"In the end, I know one thing and the fans do too -- I've played an important role in all the trophies the club has won in recent years."
Last month, sources told ESPN FC that Fellaini would like to stay at United but is keen to sign a longer deal than the one currently on offer.
Fellaini, who scored the winner against Arsenal on Sunday, is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave Old Trafford for free.
He turned down an offer in September but after positive talks with the club, Jose Mourinho revealed the 30-year-old is "close" to agreeing new terms.
Fellaini said he was "open to everything" and "would not have a problem with life in China" after being linked with a switch to the Chinese Super League as well as Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Fenerbahce and Besiktas.
"I am now 30 years old, at the end of my contract and negotiating with Manchester United," he added.
"There are several clubs showing interest. I'm waiting for what's going to happen."
