MOHAMED SALAH is still sweating on his fitness ahead of the World Cup, and things have been complicated for Sergio Ramos since the incident in the Champions League final.
Ramos and Salah came together in the first half with the Liverpool star having to go off injured.
His place at the World Cup is now under threat and fans in Egypt have been targeting the Real Madrid star for abuse.
According to reports from Spanish publication Cadena Cope Ramos has received death threats and has now had to change his phone number.
Fans are said to have been protesting by the Spanish embassy in Cairo and were singing about Ramos.
And the claims are that some fans even managed to obtain his phone number and were harassing him directly.
He has now has to change his number and the police are involved.
Liverpool physio Ruben Pons insists Salah is not angry with Ramos.
“Salah has not told me anything about Sergio Ramos,” said the Spaniard.
“I don’t think he is angry with him. It was an accidental challenge.
“We knew that it was something serious as soon as he fell on the ground because he never complains. We feared the worst.
“I was devastated. I tried to keep him calm. I told him he couldn’t do anything about it now and that he should not worry. It was time to look for solutions and not regret that things had not worked out.”
And some pundits even believe Salah could have avoided injury during the incident which came at 0-0 during the Champions League final in Kiev.
Liverpool went on to lose 3-1 after two Loris Karius clangers and a Gareth Bale wonder goal.
Dion Dublin insists Ramos did not go out to hurt Salah.
"I don’t know how and I don’t know why anybody would think that you can do that on purpose, that specific injury on purpose to a fellow person, not so much a footballer," Dublin said.
"A footballer should be able to fall in a certain way because he knows his body better than maybe somebody that’s not a footballer."
