NABIL FEKIR is set to fly into Liverpool today to complete a move to Anfield,

Fekir, 24, will leave France to take a flight into the UK with his agent Jean-Pierre Bernes where they will sit down to discuss the 'final details' of the deal, according to respected French journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin.

A medical will then be done before Fekir returns to France to link back up with the national team squad ahead of their clash with USA on Saturday.

Collet-Gaudin tweeted: "#Fekir and his agent Jean-Pierre #Bernès should be this Sunday 03/06/2018 to #Liverpool to settle the final details of the transfer of the French international. If all goes well, medical visit in stride! #LFC"

Jurgen Klopp had been keen to push the move for the attacking midfielder through before the start of the World Cup but Lyon had other ideas.

Their president Jean-Michel Aulas wanted to hold out until after the tournament in the hope his value sky-rocketed.

However, it now appears Liverpool have got their man, who is valued at around £50million.

Bookies are convinced the deal is done with Fekir now 'the most likely deal of the summer' with Coral.

The Frenchman is as short as 1-8 to move to Anfield, meaning punters have to put £8 on to win just £1 back.

“Liverpool have splashed the cash in the summer transfer window already and the latest betting suggests they could be set to be the busiest team over the next couple of months as they are expected to wrap up deals for Nabil Fekir and Jack Butland,” said Coral’s John Hill.

Fekir would become Liverpool's third confirmed signing of the summer, following the arrivals of midfield duo Naby Keita and Fabinho.

Fabinho himself had publicly called on Fekir to join him on Merseyside.

"He is a very good player, of international level," the Brazilian told RMC Sport.

"In Ligue 1, it is not only this season that he has demonstrated things. It's been a few years since he demonstrates his quality. If he comes, it will be good too."

While club legend Robbie Fowler has discussed signings with Klopp himself and he has name-dropped Fekir as one of them in the pipeline.

Fowler said: "I was in Kiev to witness Liverpool in the Champions League Final, and never mind the result, it was an incredible spectacle where the fans did themselves immense credit.

"For Jurgen Klopp though, there are a few issues. I spoke to him before the game, and he told me he will make signings in the summer, that the plans were already in place to make the squad much stronger.

"That is what is needed now. They have a great team, but there needs to be more strength in depth - more options when things go wrong, like they did when Ramos did Mo Salah. And he did him, don't have any doubt about that.

"Liverpool's whole system was undermined by that injury, and I think that is clearly something Klopp must look at. I think he is, judging by the interest in Nabil Fekir of Lyon. Fabinho looks a good signing too, because they need a touch more strength in the middle.

"Then there's the keeper. I felt for Loris Karius, and I don't want to crucify him. But if you are there in these big games, then you have to be ready to perform. And obviously he didn't.

"I'm sure it is a position Klopp will look at now. He needs to."
