And Atletico are now bracing themselves for a number of bids for Oblak this summer.
But according to reports in Spain, Liverpool have already tested the waters with a €90m (£79m) offer for the 25-year-old.
Arsenal have also been heavily linked with Oblak in recent months.
But Spanish outlet Don Balon claim the Reds are confident Atletico will accept their offer in the coming weeks.
Oblak would become most expensive goalkeeper in history and would likely replace Champions League villain Loris Karius in between the sticks.
The German is facing an uncertain future on Merseyside after his performance against Real Madrid in Kiev last month.
As for Liverpool's other transfer targets, it appears the club have missed out on another prospective goalkeeper.
Roma stopper Alisson Becker has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer.
But according to Marca, the Brazilian has decided to join Real Madrid in the coming months.
Elsewhere, Liverpool have already secured deals for Fabinho and Naby Keita.
And Lyon star Nabil Fekir is also expected to join over the summer.
